Summit Program

The Science for Development Summit 2026 brought together an extraordinary group of Nobel Laureates, internationally renowned scientists, academics, policymakers and development leaders in Timor-Leste for two days of discussion, exchange and collaboration.

Across the main Summit, Sci-Tech Expo and parallel sessions held throughout Díli, participants explored how science, technology, education and innovation can support Timor-Leste’s development priorities and help address some of the most important challenges facing developing countries today. The programme also created opportunities for direct engagement with Timorese students, researchers, universities, public institutions and national leaders.

The Summit marked an important moment for Timor-Leste, demonstrating the country’s ambition to strengthen its connections with the global scientific community and to place knowledge, research and innovation at the heart of its future development.
